NTI Partners with Northeast Transcription, Inc. to Offer Externships to Medical Transcription Grads

Northeast Transcription Inc, is pleased to announce an exciting partnership with Northeast Technical Institute, headquartered in Scarborough, Maine, for medical transcription education. Select Institute students will be recommended by their instructor for an externship program, which is an enhancement of the foundation Northeast Technical training.

The externship's purpose is to increase students' terminology, research, and technical skills in an environment that more closely resembles an MT's working environment. Because students in the program will learn our medical transcription platform and QA standards, it is expected that their on-the-job training will be shortened and primarily will focus on client specifics.

New MT school graduates can take many months to achieve acceptable productivity. The externship will give students the tools to begin their transcription career at an advanced level and reach a comfortable income level sooner.

Students who meet the productivity and accuracy requirements of the program will be eligible to apply for the 3-month paid internship offered by Northeast Transcription. They may also apply for a standard ("experienced") position if they choose. Hiring decisions will be based on our recruiting needs at the time.

NTI Sends Trailer & Supplies to Gulf

NTI teamed up with local radio stations to help raise money and needed supplies to ship to the Gulf Region.

NTI donated a trailer from one of our fleet to be loaded with water and other needed supplies. The loaded trailer was one of many that was donated by various local businesses and transported to the Gulf Region to aid in the relief mission.

Donations are still being accepted by visiting the Red Cross on line.

NTI Helps Students Put Their Education To Work

Scarborough, Maine-based Northeast Technical Institute, Inc., a leader in specialized workforce training for more than 20 years, continues its unparalleled success in helping students achieve their career goals.

"I earn $1000 every week, more than I ever did working for paper mills for over 30 years", says Gene Stanley, a 2002 Truck Driver graduate of NTI. Gene now drives for Timberland Trucking Company in Medway, ME. His first job after graduating from NTI was with RC Moore, but Gene wanted to be home more often, and decided to switch to Timberland - Gene is now home most weeknights and has weekends off.

Karen Brown of Seabrook, NH was tired of being laid off after 25 years in the electronics industry. "I just wanted a career like professional driving because there's always jobs", says Karen. "And I felt that NTI could give me the training I needed to get hired with a good company. I was right, because their entire staff really took an interest in me. I never felt like just a number, and the instructors were so professional and caring. And when it came down to applying for jobs, I had 7 job offers within 24 hours! I chose Werner Enterprises and I'm doing very well."

NTI offers more than professional truck driver training. Since the early 1990's, NTI has been offering hands-on health care and computer training. NTI's computer programs are geared towards industry certifications like Microsoft and CompTIA, which help its graduates to compete for entry-level computer jobs. "I knew nothing about computers when I enrolled at NTI", says Fred McDonald, now employed with Gorham Micro, Inc. as a PC Support Administrator. "But now I have a great job with a terrific company and it all started at NTI."

NTI's health care training includes courses in Medical Office Administration with a concentration in medical coding and billing, transcription, and medical office procedures. Pharmacy Technician training is now also offered as market demand increases for well trained, certified technicians. Suzanne Keefe, a graduate of NTI's Medical Office Assistant program and employed with the Visiting Nurses Association, says, "I love my new career, and I found my education at NTI to be exactly what I needed to enter the medical field."
